2021 Applications Open + A Final Deadline Extension

We are happy to announce that applications for 2021 Ph.D. and master’s programs are open! Deadlines are still months away, but it’s never too early to start planning for your application. The Office of Admissions is here to help as you start collecting documents and investigating potential programs in depth—our Admissions advisors can answer any questions you may have. Please reach out to us if we can assist with anything.

There is one master’s program still taking applications for Fall 2020, the M.A. in Liberal Studies. This is an interdisciplinary master’s program with over 20 concentrations that span the social sciences and humanities. As a student in this program, you can take classes from a large number of Gradate Center master’s and doctoral programs to customize a course of study to fit your own research interests and work with our expert faculty across multiple academic departments. The new application deadline for the M.A. Liberal Studies is July 15.

We look forward to helping you begin your journey toward a Ph.D. or master’s degree.

Is it possible to apply to 2 different programs withing the same CUNY school (for example: John Jay’s Clinical Psychology PhD and John Jay’s Pscyhology & Law PhD)?

    Thank you.

At The Graduate Center you may apply to only one program per degree type at a time–so one Ph.D. and one master’s, but not two Ph.D. programs for example (I cannot speak for all CUNY schools, I can only speak to the policy here). Both of these that you mentioned are through The Graduate Center (even though a lot of each of these are done physically at John Jay, so I realize that it’s confusing) so you may only apply to one of these areas of study within Psychology.
